Sunday headcanon... based upon something I heard the Bennetts discuss in some stream or other, something about the mask being bolted to Peter's head. Hardcore. So maybe that keyhole is a kind of port and maybe he needs to be knocked out for adjustments. Mostly I just think it's funny...
